WHAT WE DO – WHO WE ARE

Aloha Golf Club – one of the best golf clubs at the Costa del Sol – has fantastic members who care. With this spirit the charity group was founded in 2012. Our main target is local people in need. Therefore we created a relationship with the Church in La Campana together with CARITAS.

We assist about 60 families with various kinds of help which is one part of our work.

FOOD: The core of our monthly work is to provide food to Caritas, at the Church in La Campana. We help supply enough basic supplies so that families with children have enough to eat –this includes baby food, nappies etc. Since more than 6 years we can offer these families our monthly food-support to an equivalent of 800 to 1.000€.

Part of our funds are used to cover patient’s contributions at the Pharmacy. Without our help some families could not afford their medicines. The monthly amount we use for medicine is about €400.

Aloha members provide all sorts of things sometimes of high value when changing house, renovating their apartment or they want to get rid of things they don’t want anymore. For example: a big TV flat screen and a barbeque of high quality was donated because the owner sold his house and moved to a much smaller apartment; this made two families happy as they could never have afforded things like this. Others provided cutlery, kitchen appliances, plates, glasses, lamps etc., a brand-new baby cot and many rucksacks and bags for children were donated, also toys and 2 highchairs for children, not to forget the donations of clothes and shoes.

Sarah

This 18-year-old girl from Marbella lost both her hands and feet
due to a meningococcus infection. The whole of Marbella is raising funds to finance four prosthesis (together aprox. € 200.000,–) and we want to help too with a decent amount!

The furniture was distributed to three places:

– the smaller items to the Church in La Campana.
– part of the remainder furniture to the Nursing Home of the Hermanitas de Los Pobres in Málaga and the Nursing Home Virgen del Carmen in Estepona.

School supplies

Every September we provide school books, exercise books, rucksacks etc. to the children whose parents cannot afford these items. We spend about €1,500 once a year.

Over the years the Aloha Ladies have become a very important pillar of our Charity. The donations from their Angels Day Competition and the Christmas Box gave a boost to our funds but this was only the start of what has become a great partnership between the Ladies Section and Cristina.
